Goodbye Letter to Coworkers

Dear Friends,

It has been a real pleasure working shoulder-to-shoulder with you all these years.

I want you to know how glad I am that our paths crossed.

As I bid you farewell, I hope we stay friends.

I am going to miss each and every one of you. You are family and will always be so.

Yes, we have had our differences. Of course, we have. What else can one expect when people with strong opinions and passionate talent are thrown together!

We have shared some good and some very bad times, haven't we? I wish [Name] was still with us so that I could tell him how much I value his wisdom and humor. [Name] was the funniest guy I have ever had the pleasure to know. I hope he is looking over my shoulder as I write this.

I also want you to know that [Name] and I have finally reconciled our differences. Thanks for encouraging [Name] and me to let bygones be bygones. The funny thing is the friction between us was totally avoidable and was based on a silly misunderstanding! [Name] was more than understanding and she has my undying gratitude for being mature enough to take the first all-important step to smooth things out between us.

The exit interview went extremely well. The new HR director herself was the interviewer. It was mighty decent of her. She not only appreciated my reason for quitting the company, she even went as far as suggesting that I consider meeting one of her investor acquaintances! Imagine that! I don't have the words to express my thanks to her for caring and her generosity.

Please take care, all of you.

I already miss you.

Stay in touch.

If you ever find yourself in [Name of town/city], please invite yourself home.

Take care and farewell . . . until we meet again.
